All rise! Court is in session: Don't miss Ted Geltner's discussion of Blood, Bone and Marrow: A Biography of Harry Crews at the Old Courthouse on Sunday, September 4, from 3:45pm-4:30pm. Has that rabble-rouser Harry Crews been posthumously brought up on charges of literary greatness? Perhaps he has! You're sure to find yourself arrested by a riveting, rollicking event about the life and times of a towering Southern Gothic contemporary of the late Pat Conroy, to whom this year's festival is dedicated.

"Being a writer is the only thing I remember wanting to do. I put all the energy I could into it." —Harry Crews

The AJC Decatur Book Festival is the largest independent book festival in the country and one of the five largest overall. Since its inception a decade ago, more than 1,000 world-class authors and hundreds of thousands of festival-goers have crowded the historic downtown Decatur square to enjoy book signings, author readings, panel discussions, an interactive children's area, live music, parades, cooking demonstrations, poetry slams, writing workshops, and more. And let's be honest: to eat corn dogs and funnel cake, drink pints of craft beer, be merry, and, of course, to brush shoulders with the literati!
